I see that Llandod blogger and defeated LibDem councillor David Peter would like Powys to "re-join" England. I'm guessing this isn't official LibDem policy. Surely there must be an easier way for Mr Peter to escape the clutches of Greater Cardiff?
UPDATE: With the Republic having recently given up its hard-won independence in exchange for a loan to pay off other people's debts and now with Ireland beating "the Hun" at cricket, perhaps we'll soon be seeing the 26 counties "re-joining" England. Lord help them.

Re-join England. Have I missed something?
Sometimes I think it's already happened.
I don't really know what a 'greater Cardiff' is but I'm sure Dave Jones would approve.
Surely the greatest threat to Powys and indeed the whole of Wales is the conspicuous level of political illiteracy, ignorance and apathy that exists. It's painful to say, but Wales does seem to be overburdened with a great many unintelligent people, who take no responsibility for their own lives and positively revel in their mediocre expectations of life.
I'm sure they would all like better lives - as long as someone else does it. How the hell did it ever get like this?
I blame Tiswas, infantile rubbish. No wonder we ended being governed by generations of Teletubbies.
