Reading Matters

I hadn't come across this blog before, but it has plenty of Radnorshire content.  Well worth delving into on a rainy day.

This is an excellent find-- diolch yn fawr.My grandmother's family was a tenant of the much revered Miss Thomas, Llwyn Madoc, featured prominently in the blog. The estate now belongs to the Bourdillons, I think, and is all about game shooting.

Agreed. It is also rather nice that Radnorian is posting frequently once more. Welcome back. (Perhaps he'll now stop grumbling to former colleagues about the lack of comment from over the bridge.)

I'd like to know more about this Newbridge-On-Wye rallyist.

I remember seeing a piece by Bill Boddy in an old copy of Motor Sport where he mentioned going into a Welsh garage - it must have been the old part of what is now John Powell's garage - and noting a set of Monte Carlo rally plates on display. I think Boddy was surprised when the garage owner informed him that they belonged to his daughter who had competed in the event the previous year.

I've set my team of researches on the case but if anyone can add anything please do so.

if my memory is correct Rosemary Jones was a co driver with Pat Moss driving a mini.Tom Jones who had the garage before John Powell was her father hence the Monte Carl signs
